Balance

Balance (2021)

This was a more difficult prompt for me to take on as the idea was to do a self-portrait, but as an environment. It really was a challenge for me to peel back the layers and root out shapes that I thought revealed my simplest forms.

Balance is the great challenge of my life as a predominent theme and is the force which also keeps me in motion. The ironically complex path towards simplicity was revealed to me during this project in a more enlightening way (and also with the state of the world at this time).

I've found myself retreating to a homebase where my digital realities have seemingly fully integrated into my real life, as existing from home during the pandemic has become a new norm. Almost as if I no longer physically exist - just upload my digital consciousness so I can assume my final form in what I imagine to be the lair of my inner psyche.

AlphaGo was the documentary I saw when this project started, for anyone interested in early practical AI which paved the way for today's common LLM's.

(AlphaGo, the movie has been out for a few years now, but it's a great watch regardless) (*Bonus points to anybody that can find the easter egg image of stones on the board!)
