Shibuki

Personal Fanart, Naruto:Redux - Seven Swords of the Mist, (2026)

Shibuki utilizes various explosive tags contained within a specialized scroll. The sword itself features two distinct sides, with a narrow cutting edge located down the entirety of one length and a wide platform section on the other. The scroll unrolls along the latter side, sliding downwards and resting atop its surface to form an individual segment of numerous explosive tags, which separates from the remainder upon detonation. This separation provides a small window for the user to escape the blast radius. The use of specialized exploding tags has earned this blade the title of "blastsword."

The value of Shibuki lies in it's ability to create both large and small area blast attacks. This allows for large scale destructive chaos on multiple users as well as a cutting blade for when blasts can't be contained. The Legend grew, that the user of Shibuki had to be completely resolved to accepting their own fate as the large blast sword was a risky blade capable of large destructive power, however also allowed for the possibility for the user to get caught within it's blast radius. Shibuki was said to be one of the most menacing blades, capable of bringing down multiple opponents or structures alike in one smooth swing.

I took few liberties with Shibuki's design as it is one of the more unique of the Seven Swords. I wanted to imagine something believable but maintain it's original design since it was so iconic. The idea of a blade that explodes on impact will always be unique & interesting to me!
