Samehada

Personal Fanart, Naruto:Redux - Seven Swords of the Mist, (2026)

Samehada is comparable in size to Kubikiribocho, and is arguably the most popular and powerful of the Seven swords of the Mist, earning it the title of "greatsword". Though usually wrapped in chakra suppressing bandages, Samehada's construction is atypical in that it's actual blade is comprised of an extinct breed of rare shark scales that run its length until its hilt, at the base of which is a small skull.

The value of Samehada lies in it's seemingly indestructible, sheering shark fin blades. The Legend grew, that Samehada was sentient with a mind of it's own only willing to feed on large chakra stores. The sword itself was likely used for sheering/eating flesh & chakra rather than cutting.

I took liberties with Samehada's design as I had always loved the idea/variety of a different type of sword than traditional cutting ones. I wanted to imagine something less alien-like & believable than it's anime depiction and believed that something similar to this design could pave the way for the later legends told about it.
