Kiba

Personal Fanart, Naruto:Redux - Seven Swords of the Mist, (2026)

Kiba is a pair of unique taiji swords with the ability to resonate and amplify its lightning chakra, earning the pair the title of "thunderswords". Both blades have long, slim & straight double-edged blades that also have an upward-curved bladed prong near the tip of one side of the blade and another at the base on the other side. At their bases are smooth brown hilts with a round, grey tsuba.

The value of Kiba lies in it's ability to create a flurry of quick and surgically precise dual blade attacks. These are true dueling blades as it's wielder must be able to take advantage of it's lightning blade properties for close quarters. The Legend grew, that the user of the Kiba blades had to be as athletically prominent as the blades were sharp in order to properly wield them with quick strikes akin to dancing. The blades were said to be the hardest steel ever revealed due to it's rare lightning chakra properties, allowing it to cut through both people and other swords in few strikes.

I took few liberties with Kiba's design as it was one of my least favorite/unique of the Seven Swords. I wanted to imagine something believable but maintain it's original design since the pair is so iconic. I took reference from chinese style swords as well as played with the proportions of the pronged blades that didn't appear as oddly shaped as they were from the anime.
