Hiramekarei
Personal Fanart, Naruto:Redux - Seven Swords of the Mist, (2026)
Hiramekarei is a pair of wide, flat blades with two curved indentations near it's base, creating a sort of cross-guard. The two handles are connected to one another via chakra and is typically wrapped in chakra absorbing bandages, earning it the title of "twinsword". The overall sword shape is that of a flounder and one of the more atypical sword designs of the Seven.
The value of Hiramekarei lies in it's ability to store and resonate large amounts of chakra with devastating power. It's less used as a dueling sword, and more as a chakra multiplier. The Legend grew, that the user of the Hiramekarei was the one that represented the Mist Village and was one of the most powerful of the Seven Mist Swordsmen. Hiramekarei's flounder shape and requirement for chakra control and balance was said to be the sword to restore balance to the Mist Village from it's hindered nickname of the Blood Mist Village, known for it's cruel methods of producing strong shinobi.
I took few liberties with Hiramekarei's design as it was one of the more uniquely shaped and popular of the Seven Swords. I wanted to imagine something believable but maintain it's original design since the pair is so iconic. I was trying to imagine what type of metal would look the part for chakra inducing and ended up happy with the damascus steel motif.
